Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and China are working to simplify the visa regime to create more favorable conditions for the movement of people. This was stated by Chinese Ambassador Yu Jun during the international conference “Uzbekistan and China: promoting mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries” in Tashkent.

According to the diplomat, about 70 thousand tourists from China visited Uzbekistan in 2023. The ambassador noted that Samarkand and Bukhara have already become popular cities for tourists from China.

Yu Jun noted that China is happy to observe the development of Uzbekistan and the economic growth of the country.

“New development opportunities are opening up in all areas, and the international status of Uzbekistan is significantly increasing. Within the framework of the Sino-Uzbek Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, both sides are developing effective measures to implement the agreements of the two leaders, striving to improve the level and quality of multifaceted cooperation,” the diplomat added.

Ambassador Yu Jun emphasized that last year the heads of all 14 regions of Uzbekistan visited China, and more than 30 high-ranking Chinese delegations arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit.

“We are ready to make joint efforts with our Uzbek friends to achieve more fruitful results in the development of bilateral relations!” said the ambassador.
