Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held in Beijing between representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Dunyo news agency reports.

A wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the consular and legal sphere were discussed with the Deputy Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Xie Yancun.

During the negotiations, the visa policy of the Chinese side, the protection of the rights and interests of citizens of the two countries, and the expansion of the related regulatory framework between Uzbekistan and China were touched upon.

The Chinese side was provided with detailed information about the favorable conditions created by our government for the development of tourism, entrepreneurship and business, as well as for foreign investors and the reforms being implemented in this area.

It was noted that a visa-free regime was introduced for citizens of 91 foreign countries to enter Uzbekistan, and from 1 March 2021, citizens of China also use the system of visa-free stay for up to 10 days in our country.

In turn, citizens of Uzbekistan can visit a number of countries without visas, and in some states, they have a simplified visa procedure.

It was noted that the Uzbek side is also interested in visa benefits for its citizens entering China.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation to further strengthen friendly relations between the countries in the consular and legal sphere.
