Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Construction has begun on a US$120 million metallurgical plant in the "Tarakkiyat" industrial zone of Tashlak district in Ferghana region.
The project, in collaboration with the Chinese company Shandong Aipurui Steel Plate, will be implemented in three phases, with the total project cost exceeding US$120 million.
The first phase of the plant is scheduled to be operational in the first quarter of 2025.
The facility will produce high-quality products from processed iron, intended for both the domestic market and export.
To execute this project, a joint Uzbek-Chinese venture, Farg’ona Metallurgiya Zavodi, has been established.
