Uzbekistan and Bangladesh are expanding ways of textile cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Recently, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh in the textile sector has begun to rapidly expand. The Uzbek textile delegation is actively exploring the experience of producing finished products, making several visits to Bangladeshi factories. In turn, an important event in the history of this partnership was the meeting of the leaders of the Beximco Group company from Bangladesh with representatives of the Uztekstilprom Association.

The General Director of the Beximco Group, Mr. Hussein, expressed interest after familiarizing himself with the development results and potential of the textile industry of Uzbekistan. He highlighted the advantages of Uzbek manufacturers in the global textile industry, especially emphasizing the possibility of duty-free export to the markets of Europe and the CIS. This factor makes the export of goods from Uzbekistan to Europe several times faster than from Bangladesh - only 10 days versus 30 days.

As a result, the parties came to important agreements reflecting the prospects for the development of the textile sector in Uzbekistan.

Thus, the possibilities of creating a joint mega-production in Uzbekistan for the production of ready-made clothing under well-known clothing brands, implementing an investment project in Uzbekistan for the production of hemp fiber and finished products from it, as well as using the experience of Beximco in the production of yarn and knitwear with the involvement of Bangladeshi technologists and designers to improve the efficiency and quality of production processes in factories in Uzbekistan.

Founded in the 1970s in Bangladesh, BEXIMCO Group is the country’s largest private company, contributing nearly 75% to the GDP. It is represented in various industries, including textiles. Annual revenue is over US$2 billion and employs over 70,000 people worldwide. Their activities include a vertically integrated textile manufacturing business providing cotton and polyester clothing for men, women and children, both for the domestic market and for global brands including H&M, Zara, and others.
