Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discuss prospects for interparliamentary cooperation in Baku
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 February, Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with Chairperson of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova in Baku to discuss the development of interparliamentary cooperation.
The parties reviewed the progress of the 2024–2025 roadmap for parliamentary collaboration and explored key areas for further engagement.
Special attention was given to preparations for the first Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Forum, strengthening working contacts between parliamentary committees, and enhancing ties within the friendship group, aimed at giving new momentum to bilateral relations.
The discussion also covered the active participation of lawmakers in international events. In this regard, both sides expressed their commitment to continuing constructive dialogue during the 150th anniversary assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which is set to take place in Tashkent.
