By the Resolution No.398 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of May 29, this year, amendments and additions were introduced to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 322 of November 26, 2014 “On measures of preventing unauthorized use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the airspace of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
According to the new order, foreign creative groups wishing to use unmanned aerial vehicles will apply to the State Committee for Tourism Development, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and “Uzbekkino” National Agency with a request to issue a permit for their temporary importation and use on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan with indication of necessary information about the creative group and filming locations.
One of the above-mentioned agencies notifies the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Inspection of the Republic of Uzbekistan on safety oversight of temporary importation and use of unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and then transfers the permission to the creative group.
Foreign film production companies are exempted from payment for filming on sites of tangible cultural heritage in Uzbekistan for improving the image of the country abroad.
