Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 7 May 2023, Uzbekistan Airways held a grand welcome for the second Airbus 330 aircraft at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov.

The airliner at the capital’s airport was traditionally greeted with a water arch. The Ministry of Transport, management and employees of Uzbekistan Airways, media representatives and airspotters were invited to the solemn ceremony of welcoming the aircraft.

In 2022, Uzbekistan Airways carried over 4 million passengers. As part of the concept of expanding the aircraft fleet and fulfilling the tasks of expanding the route network, it was decided to lease two Airbus 330 aircraft.

The Airbus 330 is a long-haul aircraft with a capacity of 266 passengers. The cabin includes 18 seats in business class and 248 seats in economy class. The flight range of this type of aircraft is up to 12,000 km, and the length is 58.37 m, the wingspan is 60.3 m.

The first aircraft of the Airbus 330 model, received on 21 April, operates regular flights on the route Tashkent - Istanbul and Tashkent - Dubai. The second aircraft of this type is also planned to be used in these directions.
