Uzbekistan Airways receives an Airbus A320neo aircraft

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 20 April, another Airbus A320neo landed at Tashkent airport, which became the 23rd in the Uzbekistan Airways fleet.

This 170-seat, two-class airliner arrived from Tainan and, as usual, was greeted by a water arch.

The airline received the aircraft with registration number UK32040 on a long-term lease. At the moment it has a simplified coloring of the fuselage. In the near future it will be included in the schedule and will begin operating regular and charter flights.

“Uzbekistan Airways strives to maintain its leadership in the region by opening new destinations and providing a high level of comfort and safety on board,” said Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways JSC. “A sufficient number of aircraft in the fleet will allow us to provide more travel options to Uzbek citizens, as well as provide comfortable conditions for tourists visiting our country.”

“After carrying out the necessary procedures at the base airport, the aircraft will begin operating flights and will participate in the program to expand the route network of Uzbekistan Airways. In the coming weeks, we plan to deliver another aircraft of this modification,” added the head of the air carrier.

Airbus A320neo aircraft are one of the most popular and cost-effective medium-haul airliners in the world, thanks to more fuel-efficient engines and a modern fuselage design.

It is also worth noting that the level of nitrogen oxide emissions from this aircraft is reduced by 50% compared to the previous generation, making it the most environmentally friendly among competitors.

Uzbekistan Airways is the largest airline in Uzbekistan. Its fleet includes Boeing 787/767, Airbus A320ceo/320neo/321neo, L-410, ATR-72 aircraft. The company provides both regular and charter passenger and cargo transportation, including flights on the Uzbekistan Airways Express low-cost airline system.

In 2023, the airline operated 32,333 flights and carried 5,021,247 passengers. Constantly expanding its route network and aircraft fleet, improving the service provided, Uzbekistan Airways always makes flight safety a priority.
