Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan Airways and Malaysia Airlines have resumed their code-share partnership, significantly enhancing travel options for passengers and opening new routes across Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and beyond. This announcement was made by the press service of the Uzbek national carrier.
The decision reflects both airlines’ commitment to providing convenient services for passengers and strengthening their route networks in response to growing demand for international travel, according to Uzbekistan Airways’ statement.
Under the updated agreement, Malaysia Airlines will add its "MH" code to the Tashkent–Kuala Lumpur flights operated by Uzbekistan Airways. This marks Malaysia Airlines’ entry into the Central Asian market, offering passengers a direct link to the region and expanding its global network to meet increasing demand for international travel.
In turn, Uzbekistan Airways will expand its network by adding its "HY" code to Malaysia Airlines’ flights. Passengers will now be able to easily travel to popular resort destinations such as Langkawi and Kota Kinabalu via Kuala Lumpur, exploring the iconic landscapes and attractions of Southeast Asia.
This partnership will offer passengers added conveniences, including the ability to check in baggage all the way to their final destination without re-checking at transit airports. The flight schedules will also be optimized to reduce layover times and improve connection comfort.
The renewed cooperation opens new horizons for travelers in Southeast and Central Asia, combining the hospitality of both airlines with the comfort of modern air travel. Tickets for the new routes are now available for purchase on the official websites of the airlines, at sales offices, and through authorized agents.
