Uzbekistan Airports takes part in the global forum on the development of air routes

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (Uzdaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Airports took part in the 28th World Forum for the Development of Air Mars of World Routes Forum 2023 in Istanbul.

The main goals of the trip were to restore contacts with airlines, increase awareness about Uzbekistan and airports of the republic, attract new airlines and work with carriers to open new routes.

On the sidelines of the forum, company representatives held negotiations and met with 56 airlines from Europe, America, the Middle East and Asia, 18 of which expressed interest in cooperation with airports in Uzbekistan in the near and medium term. 

The Polish airline LOT and the national carrier of Germany Lufthansa, the Turkish airline Sunexpress, the South Korean low-cost airline Jeju Air and one of the leaders in the airline industry in the world Qatar Airways showed strong interest in resuming flights. 

Negotiations were also held with representatives of FlyDubai and Jazeera Airways to expand the geography of flights and increase the frequencies of existing flights. In addition, negotiations were held with Lufthansa, Thai Cargo and Qatar Airways on organizing cargo flights.

The World Route Development Forum is one of the world’s premier aviation events, bringing together representatives from airports, airlines, suppliers, investors, international and regional associations, national tourism organizations and the media. 

Routes is built around pre-scheduled 20-minute business meetings, providing a real networking opportunity. The number of Routes delegates this year exceeded 3,000 people: more than 300 airlines, 700 airports, 130 travel agencies, 10 international industry organizations, 150 suppliers and 60 industry media from 110 countries.
