Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the third quarter of the current year, compared to the same period last year, Uzbekistan’s airports have shown nearly a 50% increase in key indicators, including passenger traffic, the number of flights serviced, and cargo volume.
During the first nine months of 2024, the country’s international airports handled 82,637 flights, of which 24,914 were domestic and 57,723 were international. This represents a 136% increase compared to the previous year. Of the total number of flights, 53,942 were operated by resident airlines, while 28,695 were operated by non-resident airlines.
From January to September, Uzbekistan’s airports served 9,893,947 passengers, including 1,871,659 passengers on domestic flights and 8,022,288 on international flights. This marks a 133% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Additionally, in the third quarter of 2024, 62,067 tons of cargo and mail were handled, which is 121% higher than last year’s figures.
