Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan aims to become a leading information technology hub in Central Asia through the development of infrastructure, business support measures, and the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov said on Wednesday.
The statement was made during the M360 Eurasia 2026 forum held in Samarkand. The minister noted that the country is consistently creating conditions to attract IT companies, including tax incentives and the development of a new regulatory framework for business operations.
Shermatov said Uzbekistan ranks 9th in the World Bank’s GovTech Maturity Index. He also noted that the country is implementing a strategy through 2030 aimed at reducing bureaucratic barriers and streamlining administrative procedures for businesses.
Special attention is being paid to human capital development. According to the minister, more than 1 million young specialists have already been trained under the “Five Million AI Leaders” program.
