Uzbekistan adopts state programme on digital TV introduction
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On state programme on technical and technological transfer to digital television in Uzbekistan” on 17 April 2012.

The document was adopted at increasing efficient use of radio frequency and gradual transfer to digital broadcasting.

The resolution approved the state programme on technical and technological transfer to digital television in Uzbekistan, UzACI said.

The programme envisages further improvement of legal base in introduction of digital television, transfer of digital TV broadcasting in two stages (1st stage – 2012-2015 and 2nd stage (2016-2017) with full introduction of digital TV by the end of 2017.

The programme envisages to develop and modernize terrestrial network of digital television with replacement of analogue television, introduction of new services, including interactive and mobile television.

The UzACI saud that implementation of the resolution will serve for further introduction and development of terrestrial digital television in the country.
