Uzbekistan adopts program on improving activities of museums till 2027
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan adopted a program on improving the activities and strengthening the material and technical base of state museums for 2017-2027.

On 11 December 2017, the government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution, which approved the program.

As part of the program, Uzbekistan plans to build, reconstruct, repair and equip the museum in all regions of the country.

The government created the Republican Commission for Coordination of Program Execution. The commission was headed by First Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari JSC Acilbay Ramatov.

As part of the program, it is planned to revise the concepts of all museums, taking into account domestic and foreign experience, as well as to introduce measures to improve the safety and security of exhibits.

Measures will be taken to improve the quality of visitor services and create conditions for visiting museums by persons with disabilities.

The program includes measures to establish state museums-reserves in Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Navoi and Ferghana regions. It is also planned to improve the activities of existing museums-reserves in Bukhara, Samarkand and Khiva.

The program stipulates opening of 7 new museums, reorganization of 21 museums and closure of 33 museums. To implement the program, it is planned to direct 572.354 billion soums.
