Uzbekistan adopts measures to develop tourism in Navoi region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan approved a programme of targeted measures on developing tourism and increasing export potential of tourism services in Navoi region for 2011-2012, Uzbektourism national company said.

The programme, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, envisages to attract US$3.705 million of own resources of the initiators and loans of banks to development of tourism sector in the region.

Within short-term programme, it is planned to construct Navoi Plaza Hotel with 28 rooms in Navoi city, reconstruct of Mansur Ota Hotel in Kiziltepa district, expansion of Kamilla Hotel and Gulmira-K Hotel in Navoi city.

It is planned to reconstruct Oltinsoy sanatorium in Hatirchi district, organize rest zone in Tudakul lake in Kyzyltepa district.

The programme envisages reconstruction of roads, near tourism objects, and railroad objects, including Navoi railway station, as well as electrification of railway Maroqand-Navoi and launch high-speed train on this route.

In order to attract tourists, it is planned to organize international rally on mountainous route Nurota-Langar and desert route Sarybel-Tomdi.

The programme stipulates to develop active tourism in the region with visits to such objects as Sarmyshsay, Chashma, Tudakul, Aydarkul, Sentob and Sangijumon.
