The document was adopted for further developing and strengthening of mutual bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and the USA, gradual realization of Strategic Partnership Declaration, bilateral agreements in various spheres.

The resolution approved action plan on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the USA for 2010, which covers such spheres as politics, security, economy and development, peace and stability in Afghanistan.

One of the important events in the Uzbek-US relations will be the visit of the US State Secretary Hillary Clinton to Uzbekistan, which will take place in the first half of 2010. It is also planned to organize visit of the US congressmen to Uzbekistan.

The sides are planning to holds the second round of the Uzbek-US political consultations in Tashkent in the second half of 2010. The first round of consultations took place in Washington on 17-18 December 2009.

In security sphere, the sides are planning to cooperate in training and re-training of Uzbekistan’s officers in leading military training establishments in the US, interact in ensuring border security, realization of technical assistance in this sphere and interaction in combating of terrorism.

In economic sphere, Uzbekistan plans to organize a roundtable in Washington on attraction of the US investments and technologies to Uzbekistan, including to Navoi free industrial and economic zone.

The sides will create joint farmers forum on exchange of know-how achievements in agriculture and organize visits of the Uzbek business circles to the US to get acquaint with their experience, including in food industry and renewable energy.

Action plan envisages conducting of next meeting of Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) with participation of Afghanistan in Tashkent.

Uzbekistan and the USA are planning to complete coordination and initialing of the agreement in science and technologies. Experts of two states will hold meetings on expansion of relations among scientific establishments, attraction of grants for scientific researches, etc.

The plan also stipulates realization of the joint academic and educational programmes and opening of branch of the US university in Uzbekistan.

The sides are planning to conduct several measures on ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan, including realization of initiatives of Uzbekistan in ensuring regional security and creation of the 6+3 Contact Group under aegis of the UN.

The parties will review issues of expanding US purchases of the Uzbek products for further supply to Afghanistan through North Distribution Network.
