Finance01/11/2007Uzbekistan, ADB sign loan agreement on state finance management reform project
Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a loan agreement on the Reforming the State Finance Management project, UzA reported.
The signing took place on 31 October in Tashkent in the framework of the visit of the ADB president Haruhiko Kuroda to Uzbekistan.
The ADB has supported reforms in Uzbekistan since 1996 by investing in various spheres of the country’s economy. The cooperation with the bank covers fields like education, development of natural resources, agriculture, transport and transport communications, healthcare, finance, industry, trade and energy.
Last year the ADB approved the program and the strategy of cooperation with Uzbekistan for the years 2006-2010. These documents envisage realization of 14 projects during 2007-2008 in agriculture, drinking water supply, equipment of schools and small business.
