Uzbekenergo to improve electricity supply in Samarkand, Bukhara regions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekenergo state joint stock company is completing construction of high-voltage line 500 kilovolt “Syrdarya thermal power station – Sogdiana substation”, the press service of the company said.

The project cost is US$113.2 million. At the same time, the company attracted resources of the Islamic Development Bank for US$25.1 million to implement project.

The line with extension of 217 km passed through territories of Syrdarya, Jizzakh and Samarkand (Sogdiana sub-station) regions of Uzbekistan.

The project implementation will ensure reliable electricity supply to consumers in Samarkand and Bukhara regions of Uzbekistan and allow to save 186 million kilowatt per hour electricity due to decrease of losses.
