Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekcosmos Agency held a meeting with representatives of the Japanese company Synspective, specializing in the field of space monitoring and radar technology.

The company has unique technologies for processing radar satellite interferometry data provided by several providers.

One of Synspective’s key projects is the development of SAR (synthetic aperture radar) technology, which allows the processing and interpretation of high-resolution radar images for the earth’s surface at any time of day and in any weather conditions. This technique for processing radar images provides information about the displacement/deformation of the earth’s surface and objects, which makes it possible to identify risk areas for possible destruction, flooding and other emergencies caused by natural disasters.

Japan has significant experience in the field of monitoring deformation and seismic activity, and is also an experienced leader in ensuring a high level of safety when operating facilities in areas with high seismic risk.

In this regard, the meeting paid special attention to discussing seismology and monitoring of deformations of dams and reservoir banks over the coming year.

It is also planned to introduce INSAR technologies to all strategically important facilities throughout the country.

As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to sign a Memorandum and discussed prospects for the development of cooperation in the field of education.
