Uzbek youth propose to introduce some changes to national legislation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State support in recent years significantly changed youth organizations of Uzbekistan. In the result, currently there are 470 youth NGOs in Uzbekistan, which are actively operate in such areas as education, healthcare, human rights, sports, culture and others.

For last several years, the activity is also observed in political sphere. Youth organizations are also participating in discussion and development of new legislative documents, as well as important political issues related to their activity.

Institute on Studying Civil Society in Tashkent initiated a roundtable “Issues of improving legislation in protection of rights and interests of youth”.

The event was attended by leaders and members of Kamolot Public Youth Movement, youth wings of UzLiDeP, Yosh Adolatchilar, Istoqbol, NGOs, and others.

The event was aimed at discussing issues on improving legislative base on protection of rights and interests of children and youth, strengthening foundation for their harmonic development.

During the event, the participants familiarized with the results of analysis of legislative acts related to youth issues.

The participants underlined that it is necessary to introduce several changes to legislation, which is dictated by current realities, creation of new activities, scientific-technical progress, etc.

During the event, the participants actively discussed each proposals directed at improving national legislation, including protection of rights and interest of youth. They selected the most actual and effective ones.

In particular, it is necessary to envisage measures on material and moral support of initiative youth, form preferences to this youth category.

It was said that it is necessary to boost activity of youth trade unions at universities and in entrepreneurship sector to protect their rights and interests.

The participants also called to ensure participation of young NGOs in activity of under ages commission in places.

It was also noted that it is necessary develop legal base for protection of youth from threats related with information expansion.

These proposals were directed to corresponding state organizations for consideration. At the end, the youth organizations agreed to consolidate their efforts to protect interests of youth in Uzbekistan.
