Uzbek wrestlers shine at Asian Championship, winning three golds
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Jordan, the Asian Wrestling Championship has commenced, and on the very first day of the tournament our national athletes delivered impressive performances.
Our wrestlers secured three gold medals and one bronze medal. In Greco-Roman wrestling, the champions were Aitjan Khalmakhanov in the 63 kg category, Aram Vardanyan in the 77 kg category, and Zhalgasbay Berdimuradov in the 87 kg category.
The bronze medal in the up to 55 kg category was claimed by Ikhtiyor Botirov. Today, five more domestic athletes will step onto the mat for their upcoming bouts.
In the 60 kg category, Alisher Ganiev will face Ali Abdunosir from Jordan and Ziyuye Tsi from China. In the 67 kg category, Nozimjon Boykuziev is set to compete against Munthir Jandu of Saudi Arabia. In the 72 kg category, Abdullo Aliyev will wrestle Begmirat Nobotov of Turkmenistan and Ahmed Barahman of Saudi Arabia.
In the 82 kg category, Muhammadkadyir Rasulov is scheduled to face Mohammad Nagusi from Iran, while in the 97 kg category, Behruz Barnoyev will compete against Ibrohim Fallatah of Saudi Arabia.
