Uzbekistan 03/12/2007 Uzbek TV shows another interview with Toshmuhammadova
She was first interviewed in the same broadcast on 27 November. The programme host, Madamin Safarov, asked many questions about Toshmuhammadova’s election platform, her plans of implementing some laws and programmes in the political and information technologies spheres.

Answering the question as to how she was going to implement the constitutional law on raising the role of political parties in renovation and further democratization of state management and modernization of the country, which was adopted at the president’s initiative, she said: "This constitutional law opens up opportunities for further expanding the rights and powers of political parties." To implement this law, her party had to step up its activities, promote its ideas, and represent "voters’ interests", Toshmuhammadova added.

Asked about what kind of political reforms she was going to carry out, Toshmuhammadova said that it was necessary "to instil democratic values in people’s minds", and to be in regular contact with people. In response to another question as to what kind of measures she was going to take to ensure the government’s openness she said: "It is very important to expand government agencies’ interaction with the media and establish [their] interaction with ordinary people, and this will be very efficient in developing our country."

She also said that it was necessary to introduce an "electronic government" system in Uzbekistan to ensure the government’s openness. Speaking of her goal to develop the information technologies in the county, the candidate noted that developing this sphere "will raise our country’s standing on the international arena" and create many other conveniences.

Toshmuhammadova also spoke of the benefits of introducing a national innovation system in Uzbekistan.
