Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 September, Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov met with Timothy Smart, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Uzbekistan.

The Ambassador emphasized the UK's interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation with Uzbekistan in the transport sector, particularly in infrastructure, automotive, and railway projects.

He also shared experiences regarding the financing of transport projects in Turkey and South Korea with the involvement of one of the UK's largest credit agencies, UK Export Finance.

Minister Makhkamov highlighted the expansion of cooperation with the UK in implementing infrastructure projects, organizing joint educational programs with the transport university, and establishing air routes.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop a draft memorandum of cooperation and create a joint working group.
