Uzbek specialists study Russian experience on museums’ informatization
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of cultural establishments of Uzbekistan arrived in Russia to exchange experience in informatization of museums.

During the visit, Director of the center on certification and computerization of the Ministry of Culture and Sport Shavkat Sultanov and director-general of Bukhara State Architecture-Artistic Museum-Reserve Robert Almeyev met management of the State Hermitage.

The Uzbek delegation participated at international scientific-practical seminar “Museum information technologies. Priority tasks for informatization of museums and perspectives of development”.

The event was held at the State Central Museum of musical culture named after Glinka on 2 December 2010. Participants discussed use of information technologies in museum and exchanged experience. The event was attended by directors and main keepers of cultural education from Russia and the CIS. ELAR Corporation organized the event.

Specialists of ELAR briefed participants on tools for creation of virtual collections and 3D museums, mechanisms on creation singe state museum catalogue, technologies on scanning old books and documents.

Shavkat Sultanov said that Uzbekistan adopted a law “On Museums” in 2008 and the government adopted decision to create single museum catalogue in 2010. He said that Uzbekistan is conducting work on creation of single museum catalogue.

Uzbek official added that Uzbekistan wants to study experience of Russia in informatization of museum objects. He added that historic and cultural property of Uzbekistan should be public. Sultanov said that Uzbekistan is interested in solutions, which are used at Russia museums on creation of digital content.

During the seminar, Robert Almeyev said that computerization of museum funds will allow accounting, storage and safety of exponents, catalogization of museum collections, dynamic preparation of exhibitions.
