Uzbek-South Korean trade turnover may reach US$1bn in 2008

According to Uzbek media reported, the bilateral trade turnover comprised US$850 million in 2007.

The reports said South Korea supports accession of Uzbekistan to the World Trade Organization.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov visited South Korea on 24-26 February to attend inauguration ceremony of new South Korean President Lee Myung-bak. During the visit, the sides signed several economic agreements.
