Uzbek software developers receive preferences
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On measures on further strengthening stimulation of local software developers” on 20 September 2013.

The document was adopted for further developing production of software products in Uzbekistan in line with international standards, strengthening stimulation of local produces for production of competitive products, helping to promote their products in internal and external markets.

The resolution said that software developers, included to National Registrar of software developers, will be exempted from payment of all taxes and mandatory payments till 1 January 2017.

They also will not pay customs duties (except registration fees) for imported equipment, spare parts, components, technological documentation, software, which are not produced in Uzbekistan. But the Cabinet of Ministers will approve list of imported goods.

The funds, received due to tax and customs preferences, should be directed to developing and strengthening material-technical base, stimulating employees of the software developers, which included to the national registrar.

The tax preferences will be extended for two more years, if the software developer exports at least 50% of its products.

The document said that software developers, included to National registrar, have right to export their products for hard currency via online shops without signing export agreement.

National registrar of software developers is created based on national catalogue of developers and software, placed at the internet portal software.uz. The registrar is free and voluntary for legal entities, which receive 50% of their income from development of software.
