The project is aimed at ensuring exchange of electronic information through uniting establishments of the Public Education Ministry into single data exchange network.

The main aim of the network is internal exchange of electronic data, internal monitoring, use of videoconference technology, use of corporate email, IP-telephony, electronic digital signature and access to websites at UZ domain zone.

The network will be created on the base of data transfer network of Uzbektelecom joint stock company, national telecom operator of Uzbekistan. The Center for developing multimedia of general educational programmes under the Public Education Ministry will be main base for the project. The center will be information base, which envisages to connect it to the internet at the speed of 2 Mbps, to VPN network – 20 Mbps and with the Public Education Ministry – 10 Mbps.

Total number of connection points within the project will make up 256. It is planned to create 16 points first at Public Education Ministry, Public Education Ministry of Karakalpakstan, regional public education departments, Tashkent public education department and Multimedia Center. Later it is planned to create 21 points at Skills Development Institutes and 22 points at organizations and centers.

The single network will include resources of educational network Ziyonet, access to Internet, video conference services, IP-telephony and electronic information exchange. The project will be implemented in three stages.

The first stage of the project will include:

• Technical training on connection to single data transfer network in cooperation with the specialists of UzNet of Uzbektelecom, Public Education Ministry, Multimedia Center, Public Education Ministry of Karakalpakstan, public education departments of the regions and Tashkent city;
• Construction of communication line to data transfer network, located at Automatic switching center No. 225 in Tashkent city from UzNet to Multimedia Center;
• Connection of Multimedia Center to international internet channel at the speed of 2 Mbps and Tas-IX network at the speed of 20 Mbps, as well as single data transfer network at the speed of 2 Mbps.

• All fourteen departments of public education will be connected to single data transfer network at the speed of 2 Mbps;
• All 21 institutes on improving teachers’ skills will be connected to single data transfer network at the speed of 2 Mbps;
• All 22 establishments of the Public Education Ministry will be connected to single data transfer network at the speed of 2 Mbps;
