The candidate emphasized that all significant achievements that have been made up to the present time were the result of the practical implementation of programmes and action plans on modernizing the state and the social structure of the country.

He told the voters that Uzbekistan’s strategic goal was to build a humane and democratic society. Among the key fields of his election platform, he outlined his plans to continue the process of building an open civil society and increase the political and legal awareness of the people, in particular that of young people.

The candidate said that these objectives of his manifesto should be considered as further development of the reforms which started in the first days of independence and have been gradually implemented.

The meeting was attended by representative of various professions and communities, who made their comments on the candidate’s election platform. It was also noted that holding the elections with participation of several parties testified the fact that the principles of democracy were being implemented in the country.
