Uzbek President resolves to boost rural housing construction
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a resolution "On additional measures to expand the housing construction in rural areas" on 3 August 2009. The document envisages measures on improvement of housing conditions in rural areas and expansion of housing construction.

The resolution said the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regional administrations have selected 42 land areas for the implementation of pilot projects on construction of housing and social objects under the typical projects.

The document said about 260.5 billion soums will be directed for crediting of the individual housing construction in rural areas in 2009/2010, including 65.5 billion soums in 2009.

Uzbek President’s resolution founded Qishloq Qurilish Invest (Rural Construction Invest), which will assist individual builders in housing construction under the typical projects. The company will have branches in all regions, the document said.

The company will carry out marketing research of the housing market and prepare recommendations on selection of building areas, structure of the housing to be constructed, social and engineering infrastructure objects.

The specialized engineering company Qishloq Qurilish Invest has been exempted until 1 January 2014 from the payment of all types of taxes and compulsory payments to the National Road Fund and Off-Budget School Education Fund.
