Welcoming the guest, the Uzbek leader underlined firm and sustainable level of the Uzbek-US relations, perspectives of their developing on constructive and equal bases.

During the meeting, David Petraeus expressed frank gratitude for warm welcome and underlined interest of the US administration in strengthening of bilateral relations and importance of the Uzbek leadership in settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.

The sides exchanged opinion on further developing the Uzbek-US cooperation and other issues of mutual interest, UzA reported.
