During the meeting, sides exchanged opinion on current state and perspectives of development military technical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, priority directions of bilateral interaction in this sector, UzA said.
Welcoming the guest, Uzbek President Islam Karimov underlined that he considers this visit as implementation of agreements, reached during recent visit of Russian President Dmitriy Mevdeved to Uzbekistan.
It was noted that Uzbekistan and Russia are interested in further developing mutual beneficial cooperation in military-technical sphere, which covers such directions as supply of modern military equipment, repair and modernization of military equipment and property, etc.
Mikhail Dmitriev expressed gratitude for warm welcome and said that the Russian side is for deepening mutual beneficial cooperation in military-technical sphere with Uzbekistan and rendering assistance to the Uzbek side in strengthening defence potential.
