Uzbek President receives credentials from envoys
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received credentials from newly appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany, Pakistan, Algeria and Russia to Uzbekistan on 23 December 2009.

Receiving credentials, the Uzbek leader congratulated envoys with the appointment to their posts and wished success in their mission in Uzbekistan, UzA reported.

Wolfgang Neuen, German Ambassador to Uzbekistan, said he will pay attention for further development of the economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany during his mission.

Pakistani envoy Mohammad Wahid al-Hasan underlined that Uzbekistan and Pakistan are close geographically and spiritually. He added that Uzbekistan is the most reliable partner of Pakistan in Uzbekistan.

Ramdan Ramdan Mekdud, Ambassador of Algeria to Uzbekistan, said there are huge potential in Uzbek-Algerian economic cooperation, including in mining, metallurgy and light industry, oil and gas processing. He said he will focus on these issues during his tenure.

Russian Ambassador Vladimir Tyurdenev said relations with Uzbekistan are significant for Russia. He said he follows development in Uzbekistan with special attention and achievements of Uzbekistan in economy during global crisis attract special attention.
