Datuk Shamsul Azhar Abbas expressed sincere gratitude to the Uzbek leader for warm welcome and expressed interest of Petronas in further development of investment cooperation with Uzbekistan.

The sides exchanged opinion on implementation of existing projects and joint development of the perspective programmes, UzA reported.

Within the visit of Petronas management into Uzbekistan, the agreement on product sharing agreement on development of Gadjak deposit in Baysun district of Surkhandarya region was signed. This means that the project enters to development phase.

Petronas, oil and gas company, was founded in 1974. Currently, it holds leading positions in oil and gas sector. Currently, Petronas hols exploration works in several investment blocks at Ustyurt and Surkhandarya region.

Petronas and Sasol (South Africa) are participating in wide-scale project on creation synthetic fuel (GTL-process) for production of diesel fuel, aviation kerosene and liquefied gas.
