Uzbek President inspects new infrastructure facilities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 October, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with new infrastructure facilities and the progress of preparations for the autumn/winter season in the city of Tashkent.

In recent years, the capital has been growing both in population and in new territories. In accordance with this, infrastructure capabilities are also increasing.

In particular, a new substation was built in Shaykhantakhur district, next to the Pakhtakor stadium. As part of the project, more than 19 kilometers of cable were stretched from the “Traktorsoz” substation, and 2 transformers were installed. The facility will be commissioned next month. As a result, an additional power source with a capacity of 130 megawatts will appear in the capital’s center. The load on other substations in the city will be reduced, and the likelihood of emergencies will be reduced by 60 percent.

Here, the Head of state got acquainted with a presentation on the construction and modernization of the power supply system of the city of Tashkent. It was reported that 5 more substations are being built, and 4 are being upgraded. They will provide a total of 850 megawatts of power.
