President Islam Karimov underlined that automobile industry is developing dynamically in Uzbekistan and cooperation with General Motors has significant importance. He added that the meeting is good opportunity to exchange opinion on mutual partnership.

During the meeting, Tom Stevens expressed his gratitude to the Uzbek President for warm reception and added that General Motors highly rates cooperation with Uzbekistan. He added that the corporation is interested in gradual development of mutual ties.

The sides exchanged opinion on priority directions of cooperation, short-term and long-term cooperation, UzA reported.

General Motors is one of GM Uzbekistan founders. Since establishment of cooperation, GM Uzbekistan launched of production several new models. Currently, the plant produces such models as Damas, Matiz, Nexia, Lacetti, Captiva, Epica and Spark.
