Uzbek President fires head of State Demonopolization Committee
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov fired a chairperson of the State Committee on Demonopolization and Development of Competition.
According to the government portal Gov.uz, chairperson of the State Committee on Demonopolization and Development of Competition Jahongir Ismailov was exempted from his duties.
Jahongir Ismailov headed the committee since March 2010. Prior appointment he worked as deputy chairperson of Uzbekneftegaz national holding company (from September 2006 to March 2010).
From 2005 to 2006, Ismailov worked as deputy chairperson of the State Committee on Demonopolization and Development of Competition. He also worked at Finance Ministry, National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity, and Gallabank.
