Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed dissatisfaction with the problems with traffic jams in Tashkent and criticized the Minister of Transport, his deputy, the head of the Traffic Safety Inspectorate and the head of Toshshahartranskhizmat.

On 29 January, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev holds a meeting on priority tasks in the areas of housing, construction, utilities, transport and ecology for 2024, according to presidential press secretary Sherzod Asadov.

During the meeting, the head of state pointed out the unsatisfactory work of officials in the construction industry, reducing the cost of drinking water and losses in networks, increasing the number of local flights, reducing traffic jams in Tashkent and improving public transport.

The President noted that the population of Uzbekistan is not satisfied with the areas of housing, construction, utilities, transport and ecology, despite the fact that 3 departments, 3 inspectorates, 5 companies and many local officials operate in these areas.

The head of Uzbekistan reprimanded the Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov, his deputy Mamanbiy Omarov, the head of the Traffic Safety Inspectorate Olim Saidov, and the head of Toshshahartranshizmat Anvar Juraev for problems in the field.
