Uzbek President arrives in Astana for SCO summit
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived in Astana, Kazakhstan on 14 June to participate in the session of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The summit marks the 10th anniversary of the organization. The SCO was founded in 15 June 2011. It was founded by Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Within the first day of the summit, the SCO leaders and head of observer states participated in the concert, which was held at Central Concert Hall “Kazakhstan”.
On the same day, other events dedicated to the SCO’s 10th anniversary were held. The SCO will continue its work on 15 June 2011, UzA reported.
