Uzbek-Polish intergovernmental commission to convene in 2011
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Fourth session of the Uzbek-Polish intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation will be held in Tashkent in 2011, the head of the Department on assisting trade and investment of Poland Embassy in Tashkent Slawomir Strzalkowski said.

Slawomir Strzalkowski recalled that the third session of the intergovernmental commission was held in Warsaw on 6-7 September 2010.

Strzalkowski stated that the main agenda of the third session were analysis of current state of the Uzbek-Polish economic relations and perspectives of their further development.

He said that the commission focused on cooperation opportunities in such areas as innovation, agriculture and processing of agriculture products, chemical and pharmaceutical industry, construction materials, transport and communication, environment and tourism.

It was noted that there is need to assist financial-credit and insurance of structures of Poland and Uzbekistan, which should help to increase the volume of banking-financial products, improve supplies of goods and services of both countries’ markets.

Slawomir Strzalkowski said that the session was interesting and participants discussed concrete plans and projects. He added that the Polish side made concrete proposals on cooperation, including supply of equipment to coal industry and healthcare system, storing and transporting freight, polygraphy and packaging, heat-and-power engineering sector, chemistry and pharmaceutics industry, etc.

Strzalkowski underlined that the first project with the participation of the Polish firm can be realized at the Navoi free industrial-economic zone soon.
