The Uzbek Interior Ministry’s main directorate for the administration of punishment has held a meeting to discuss a project "On drugs prevention in prisons" under the EU’s CADAP-4 (Central Asian Drug Action Programme), Uzbek newspaper Na Postu reported on 10 November.
Col I. Rahimov, deputy head of the Uzbek Interior Ministry’s main directorate for the administration of punishment, presided over the meeting. A mission on the project " On drugs prevention in prisons" was represented by T. Usubaliyev, acting head of the EU’s CADAP-4 programme, I. Fayziyev, the programme engineer, A Musina, head of the programme in Uzbekistan and S. Jumanova, leading expert of the coordination department of the National Centre for Drug Control under the Uzbek Cabinet of Ministers.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues like drafting action plans, specifying a pilot institution, personnel training and familiarizing themselves with the Atlantis medical treatment method of drug addicts and other issues.
