Uzbek pathologists held their third congress in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Third congress of pathologists of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent on 28-29 November 2012 and it was dedicated to actual problems of anatomical pathology and introduction of new technologies to pathologoanatomic service.

The event was organized by Ministry of Healthcare of Uzbekistan, Republican Pathologoanatomic Service and Republican Pathologoanatomic Society.

Anatomical pathology is fundamental medical-biologic discipline, and play key role in healthcare system. Pathologoanatomic service is becoming important in raising medical aid quality to population and improving their professional skills.

Currently, there are 177 pathologists. Annually they hold research of 500,000 biopsy and 9,000 autopsy materials. Number of pathologists grew by 35 doctors and 87 laboratory assistants. Telemedicine system was created in Uzbekistan, which allowe to improve the quality of services. Currently, telemedicine system operates at 19 pathologoanatomic establishments of Uzbekistan.

Third congress of pathologists of Uzbekistan was attended by leading scholars of Russia, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, as well as international organizations. The participants considered actual issues of protection of maternity and childhood, introduction of ICT into pathologoanatomic service, etc.

The participants adopted a resolution of the congress and proposals to the Ministry of Healthcare to improve pathologoanatomic service in the country.
