Uzbek national cuisine conquers the hearts of Parisians

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The international gastronomic festival “Rungis au Grand Palais” was held in Paris, timed to coincide with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the international agrology center “Rungis”, Dunyo reports.

The grand opening of the Uzbek Pavilion was one of the highlights of this event, held in the exhibition hall "La Grand Palais". The guests of the ceremony were Agnes Pannier-Runacher, State Secretary at the French Minister of Economics and Finance, and Stephane Layani, President of Rungis-Semmaris.

Representatives of the Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan and the BMB Trade Group company from Jizzakh region presented to the public gifts of the Uzbek land - juicy fruits and vegetables, famous melons and dried fruits, which received high marks from Parisians. And the Uzbek pilaf, cooked by a cook from Uzbekistan during a specially organized master class, caused great sensation.

At the booth of Uzbekistan were also presented products manufactured in our country, and extensive information about the tourism potential of our country.

The Uzbek pavilion was in the spotlight of the French media. Large television and radio channels, such as France 2, France 3, M6, shot the pavilion for the subsequent preparation of a series of special reports devoted to Uzbekistan.

In her interview with Dunyo, the Secretary of State under the Minister of Economy and Finance of France Agnes Pannier-Runacher, noting the dynamic development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and France, expressed her willingness to make maximum efforts to expand economic and investment cooperation.

Stefan Layani, President of Rungis-Semmaris, praised the Uzbek stand as “the brightest and most interesting venue for products with great taste.” He spoke with satisfaction about the successful negotiations on the implementation of joint projects for the construction and management of agrology centers in the regions of the republic based on the French experience in managing the international market “Rungis”.

It should be noted that the gastronomic festival has been held since 2016. In a short time, he became the leading international event in the field of gastronomy and culinary in France. This year, Agora Expo and Rungis-Semmaris became the main organizers.

The festival was attended by wholesalers and retailers of the international market "Rungis", food manufacturers, foreign delegations, French officials - only 30 thousand people.
