The members of the British Conservative Party that represent the UK official, public and business circles participated in the presentation, according to Jahon information agency.
The "Foreign policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan" briefing was held as a part of the event. The Uzbek Mission to London presented the series of photos about Uzbekistan with the comments on social and economic achievements, cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan, the tasks set to be accomplished in the Year of Youth in the country, the 2200th jubilee of the city of Tashkent, as well as the problems of Aral Sea and regional water consumption.
At the briefing the British representatives were interested in main sectors of economy of Uzbekistan, structure of exports and imports, diversification of transport and communication routes, healthcare and education systems, lives of religious communities, as well as position of Uzbekistan in settling the situation in Afghanistan, nuclear non-proliferation and prospects of addressing the problems of the area adjacent to Aral.
The participants of the discussion have said that Uzbekistan is the state with the richest history and culture, as well as considerable intellectual potential.
The British side has positively assessed the achievement of Uzbekistan in accomplishing the legal reforms, in particular, in the context of abolishing the death penalty and introducing the Habeas Corpus institute.
The participants of the gathering in London emphasized the importance of understanding the depth and complexity of situation in Afghanistan that directly impacts the stability and security in Central Asia. In this, they have spoken of the need to take into account the view of Uzbekistan in this important international problem.
