Uzbek, Malaysian foreign ministers hold talks
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation led by Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Sri Anifah Hj Aman, paying official visit to Uzbekistan, held negotiations at the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Uzbekistan.

During the negotiations, the sides exchanged opinions on current state and perspective of development of the Uzbek-Malaysian relations, international and regional issues of mutual interest, the press release of the Uzbek ministry said.

The sides noted high level of cooperation between two states. The relations between the countries are developing based on principles of mutual understanding, trust and interest.

Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Malaysia drew attention to necessity to boost bilateral trade-economic and investment cooperation, as well as expand ties in tourism, education and agriculture.

During the meeting, the sides underlined to improve efficiency of implementation of signed documents between the countries in investments area. The side noted importance of experience exchange between young specialists.

The officials also exchange opinion on regional security and stability. Aman underlined his full support on Uzbekistan’s position on establishing peace in Afghanistan. He said Uzbekistan plays important role in regional stability.

Malaysian side praised efforts of the Uzbekistan Government on rendering necessary assistance to refugees, who crossed the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border in the result of tragic events in southern Kyrgyzstan.
