Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Uzcharmsanoat association with the head of Trade house Uzbekistan. The main topic of the dialogue was the establishment of trade in leather, footwear and fur products produced in Uzbekistan in Latvia and the active attraction of Latvian investors to our country.

As part of the next round of negotiations to establish bilateral cooperation, the practical aspects of bringing our national products to the EU markets through the Latvian market were discussed. In this regard, the possibilities of Uzbekistan related to the effective use of the GSP + system of preferences were considered. The head of Trade house Uzbekistan noted that today a large exhibition hall for Uzbekistan has been opened in Latvia and trade in handicraft and agricultural products has been established.

At the meeting, the parties discussed in detail issues related to the placement of samples of products of the leather and footwear industry, the assortment presented and logistics. The current state of affairs in the field of organizing wholesale trade in Latvia was also considered. 

During the negotiations, an exchange of views took place on issues related to attracting investments from Latvian companies to Uzbekistan and the implementation of joint projects. As a result of the dialogue, it was decided to negotiate with local companies that supply products to Latvia, including the EU, and place samples in a showroom in Latvia.
