Uzbek leader, US State Secretary discuss situation in Kyrgyzstan

Uzbek President Islam Karimov held a telephone conversation with the US State Secretary Hilary Clinton on 17 June 2010. The sides discussed tragic events in southern Kyrgyzstan.
The Uzbek leader briefed the US State Secretary on situation in the southern Kyrgyzstan and in refugee camps in territory of Uzbekistan, bordered with Kyrgyz Republic, UzA reported.
The sides exchanged opinions on settling situation and stabilization of situation in Kyrgyz Republic, the report said.
It was stated that issues of rendering assistance to refugees and humanitarian aid in conflict regions, stabilization of situation in southern Kyrgyzstan remains on focus of the USA.
