Uzbek leader sends condolences to Nursultan Nazarbaev

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has sent a condolence letter to President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev on 26 December following a tragic crush of a military plane in southern Kazakhstan that led to the death of servicemen and crew, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said.

A military plane Antonov A-72 has crashed near the city of Shymkent, south of Kazakhstan, at 18:55 on 25 December 2012.

In the result of the accident, all 27 people in the airplane died, including seven crew members. All of the passengers on the flight were border guards, including the head of border service of the country.
