President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received Prime Minister of Russia Victor Zubkov at the presidential residence Oqsaroy, Uzbek news agency UzA reported.
The report said Russian official arrived in Uzbekistan to participate the Council of the head of governments of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Welcoming the guest, Uzbek President Islam Karimov said the cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia is developing in line with agreement on allied relations and the countries established effective interaction within the SCO.
Mr Zubkov expressed gratitude to Uzbek leader for warm reception and he added that Russia highly values cooperation with Uzbekistan, which is developing in all spheres.
The report added that about 30% of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade fell to share of Russia. Trade turnover between states made up US$3 billion. Over 450 enterprises with Russian investment work in Uzbekistan and Uzbek investors created 284 companies in Russia.
The sides exchanged opinion on development of bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interest.
