Uzbek President Islam Karimov received Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Amr Musa at the Oqsaroy presidential residence on 14 August.

"We know and respect you as one of the leading politicians not only in the Arab world, but in the whole world as well," Islam Karimov has said. "The participation of an AL delegation in an international conference entitled "Uzbekistan’s contribution to the development of Islamic civilization" will further build up the forum’s prestige and serve to further discover Uzbekistan’s role in the development of Islamic civilization."

The guest noted that the ISESCO’s decision to grant such a high status to Tashkent was a deserved recognition of Uzbekistan’s contribution to preserving and enriching the Islamic culture and its values. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this international conference. He also stressed that the AL was interested in cooperation with Uzbekistan on regional and international issues.

During the meeting, a comprehensive exchange of views on the issues of further developing cooperation between our country and this international organization was held.
