Uzbek leader received the order for “for special merits in the development and promotion of sports and the Olympic Movement, as well as in recognition of the dedication and devotion to the cause of development of boxing at the international and national levels”.

Dr Ching-Kuo Wu handed over the order to Islam Karimov during the meeting at the presidential residence Oqsaroy in Tashkent.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects for the development of amateur boxing in Uzbekistan, further strengthening and expanding the fruitful cooperation between Uzbekistan and AIBA.

AIBA President expressed his gratitude to the President Islam Karimov for the warm welcome and great personal contribution to the development of sports, including boxing, in Uzbekistan.
